The Midlothian Public Library provides wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) to patrons free of charge.
Internet and Computer Use Policy
During our closure, free WiFi will be accessible from the library parking lot. To comply with the social distancing requirements of our Governor’s Executive Order, we are requiring that WiFi users do so from
inside vehicles only. We are grateful to the Midlothian Police Department for their assistance in patrolling our parking lot when we are closed. If they report to us that individuals are not following this directive to remain in their cars, we may be forced to turn off the WiFi for the sake of public safety.
To get connected look for the SSID ‘LIBRARYGUEST’ in the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your device.
The network is compatible with 802.11 n/g/b devices and operates in the 5GHz spectrum. The network is open, uses WEP authentication and requires no password to connect.
If you are using a laptop and are having trouble connecting check that your wireless networking drivers are up-to-date and correctly installed.
If you are still having trouble, please contact a staff member via the help button on the website.
In addition, it has come to our attention that Comcast is making 60 days of free Internet Essentials service available to low income families. For more information, please call 1-855-846-8376 (English) and 1-855-765-6995 (Spanish)
