Fall Reading2Happy ThanksReading! As the weather starts to turn, and the autumn leaves start to fall, my thoughts often turn towards cozy nights spent at home curled up with a fascinating book, or watching an absorbing family movie (with popcorn and malt balls…you should try it!) - Heather

WeWantToHearFromYouThe Board and Staff are launching our “Library Listening Tour 2016” and we want to hear from everyone in our community about our new strategic plan. Please take 5 minutes to complete our online survey, drop a note in our comments box, or just tell us what you think!

Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week, September 25 through October 1. We continue to offer voter registration services up until October 11th for the upcoming election, so celebrate your right to vote, too! Registrarse para votar.

Don’t forget to scare up a good book for Halloween, or come and check out some frightening movies. We have fun Halloween programs for all ages, and treats for kids in costumes. The storybook garden will stay open as long as the weather is nice, and we’ll turn on the fireplace when it gets stormy. Stop on by this fall! - Heather

September is library card sign-up month!September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. A library card is an essential back-to-school supply for kids, teens, and college students to open the doors towards academic success. Your library card is your ticket to free educational resources and activities that bring families together. We provide early literacy support and lifelong learning, and transform how families spend time together. We have skilled staff to help guide your quest for answers to your questions, free wifi and plenty of computers, hands-on play spaces, storytimes, family fun, and adult social events—come out and meet your neighbors!

While you’re here, we have registrars ready for you to register to vote anytime the library is open. National Voter Registration Day is September 27, so please join us in celebrating our shared love for America. I’ve been reading Ron Chernow’s biography, Alexander Hamilton, and I can see why both the musical and this historical saga are so entrancing. Your library card can take you on a journey to the past, or help you to create a fantastic future. We hope to welcome you soon. - Heather
