Dear Library Patrons,

Thanks for staying engaged with the library throughout our closure. Here are our latest updates:

COVID-19 Closure Resources Web Page

Because we know that keeping track of all our emails can be tricky, we've created a page on our website where you can see all information about library use during closure in one place. Click HERE to access.

Easing Library Card Restrictions

Because a library card is required to access many of our online resources, we have eased our library card restrictions to make your access easier:

Online signup for digital library card: Residents of Midlothian can sign up for a free online library card for digital resources only, effective for 90 days. Once we reopen, you can come into the library to convert this into a full-service library card to check out physical materials. Click HERE to get started.

No expiration dates: All current library cards will no longer expire, and library cards that have expired since January 1, 2017 have been made active again with no expiration date. If your card expired prior to January 1, 2017, your card is no longer in our system. Please use the instructions above to sign up for a new digital card.

Unblocked cards: If your library card was blocked because you owe $10 or more in fines or lost/damaged materials charges, we have temporarily unblocked all cards for patrons that owe under $100.

New Online Programs!

For Teens: We will be offering a weekly online Role Playing Game Club on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM via the online platform Discord:

For Adults: Starting April 2, join us Thursdays at 6:30 PM on Facebook Live for "How-To in a Box," a series where library staff demonstrate everything, from cooking, to crafts to technology.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at the address below.

Wishing you safety and wellness,

Jennifer Cottrill,
Library Director
