Dear Library Patrons,

Like all workplaces during this current surge in COVID-19 cases, the library is experiencing a shortage of staff, as employees are having to isolate or quarantine due to contracting or being exposed to the virus. While it is the library's firm intention to stay open for our normal hours, there is a strong possibility that, in the next few weeks, we may need to occasionally shorten the library's hours of operation if we do not have enough staff available to operate the library safely.

If we need to open the library late or close the library early on any given day, we will announce this by email, Facebook, Twitter, and our website. In addition, we encourage you to call the library before you come to check that we are open.

Should we need to close when you need to use a library, remember we are a member of the 100-library SWAN consortium, and your Midlothian Public Library card may be used at any SWAN library. The websites of some of our closest neighbor libraries in the consortium are linked here, so you may access their hours, location, and contact information.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to keep the library safely operational during this challenging time. As always, please feel free to call us with any questions you may have.
