Dear Library Patrons,

While we are sad that this closure is dragging on, we are happy to keep you informed of what we continue to do to serve you.

New Due Date Extension

In light of the extended length of our closure, all due dates are extended until June 3, and all billing and collections are suspended until that point. Our exact reopening date is dependent upon the Governor's decision to lift the Stay at Home order. We are in the process of planning a gradual, phased reopening of all of our services when this happens.

Infobase Databases

This week we introduce this new set of electronic resources, including Access Video On Demand and Access Video: Just for KidsWorld News DigestToday's Science and more! The username and password for login are on the library's access page for this resource: https://www.midlothianlibrary.org/Infobase

Ancestry Library Edition

Our library's subscription to this popular genealogy tool is normally only available inside the library, but it is now available from your home with your Midlothian library card number: https://swanlibraries.net/ancestry/

Digital Library Card Reminder

Don't forget that you can sign up for a digital library card to access Ancestry Library Edition, eBooks, and more at: https://swanlibraries.net/patron-registration-form/?library=mds

Help Button

If you need assistance signing up for a digital library card, using any of our eBooks or other online resources, or if you just have a question, please click the Help Button at the lower right hand corner of our website. Help Button messages are checked periodically Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and we will make every effort to get back to you by the next business day.

Additionally, all our library services during closure are summarized on our COVID-19 Closure Resources web page for your reference.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at the address below.

Wishing you safety and wellness,

Jennifer Cottrill, Library Director
